What happened was Kaelyn had gotten sick and she was hallucinating so you really had no idea what was actually going on. Anyways she recovered and ended up being the fifth recovery for the entire island. While she was sick her brother Drew ran away and they were forced to move from their friend Tessas house to Uncle Emmetts house (Uncle Emmett died earlier in the book) since the power got knocked out. Meredith, Kaelyns little cousin got sick too but you never find out if she lives or not. They were in the process of doing a blood transfusion to try and give some of the antibodies for Kaelyn since she ended up beating the virus. Meredith seemed to be recovering and her fever went down. Kaelyns dad also died since this gang of people were going around and trying to set the island on fire to burn the virus away. Kaelyns dad ended up getting killed by a woman who was trying to set the hospital on fire. After all of this Kaleyn sees a boat in the distance and the ferry is returning to the island. Kaelyn thinks they might have found a cure.

 Question 4:

Something that surprised me would be how Kaelyn almost jumped off a cliff after her dad died it surprised me because in the book she acted like nothing could get her down and she was optimistic that the virus could be cured. I didn’t really see it coming since she was always trying to help out even after her mother died and Drew ran away.

Question 8:

The way that the author wrote in the book was kind of the way you would expect the average teenager to speak. So it was fairly easy to understand and when she wrote somethings it made me feel sad because Kaelyn was going through so much and lost so many of her friends.

Question 15:

I think the climax started when Kaelyn got sick and continued on till Meredith got sick and Kaelyns dad died. This is because there was a lot of suspenseful moments because you didn’t really know if Kaelyn was going to die. You never knew what was going to happen which made you keep reading. When Meredith was getting sick she was complaining about an itch on her elbow and Kaelyn said it was probably nothing to worry about but you see her sickness progress to a cough and sneezes. It was suspenseful too. When Kaelyns dad died thats where the events started to calm down. Kaelyn saw someone in the bushes which left you wondering who was in the bushes, then the heard rustleing and Kaelyns dad ran over where he later was hit in the head and died.

I finished my book.
