Tell what like or dislike about the book and why.

In my book, Divergent, I like how the story takes place in the future because I find it interesting how things have changed compared to the time that we live in now. I like hearing about how things could end up, even though certain things are unrealistic and fictional. I also like how the world is split up into factions based on personality because it’s very interesting and creative. If I had to choose something that I disliked about the book it would be that so far, the author hasn’t talked about Tris’ brother, Caleb since he left and how his new faction is, Erudite. Although, I think Tris and Caleb might get to see each other again soon.

2. Tell about parts of your book that puzzled you or made you ask a question.

In my book, Tris and Peter were paired together to fight each other. The new Dauntless initiates have to physically fight someone to see if they’re worthy of being in Dauntless. Tris was matched with Peter who is much stronger than her. I wondered why the Dauntless leaders would pair such un-even people to fight. Also, when everyone was playing Capture the Flag, I wondered why Four, a leader, chose Tris to be on his team. Tris thought he chose everyone that was fast, and Eric, the other team’s leader chose strong people. I wonder what Four’s strategy was,and if I’ll find out later on.

8. Write about the author’s style and how it makes you feel.

I like Veronica Roth’s style of writing, she wrote the book in first-person narrative. I think this is my favourite type of narrative because you can really understand how the main character feels and what’s happening to them. You can also picture yourself as that character easier. I believe first-person narrative is one of the most popular types of writing for this reason. If I were to write a story I would write like that as well. Veronica Roth also wrote the story in the future, which I love because I find it cool to learn about things that the characters have never seen before, even though in our time, they’re common like a ferris wheel and a chalk board.

1.
