4. A part of the book that surprised me is that the “sea-monster” they were chasing actually turned out to be an underwater submarine that is piloted by a criminal that hates them for shooting at his submarine.

They were thrown of the Abraham Lincoln (the boat they were on) and landed on a submarine, the submarine they landed on was actually the sea monster that they have been chasing for weeks. And the pilot of the vessel has given up on all laws and doesn’t like them because they shot at his sub and threatens that he will put them on the top of the sub and will go under leaving them for the sea.

5.A Lot of my predictions are right, some of them I’ll write down. One is that I predicted that the professor would board the Abraham Lincoln, he did. Another is that I predicted that the professors servant would come with him even though he didn’t need to, he did. another prediction I made that was right is that I predicted that the captain of the Abraham Lincoln would make the ship go as fast as possible. I made more predictions than that but I’ll write my latest prediction, I predict that the captain of the submarine will not throw them into the sea.

6.I think that maybe the meaning in the book is to never give up. I think this because when  the professor, his servant, and Ned land the harpooner were flung into the water they kept on swimming even though there was no way they would find land or catch up to the Abraham Lincoln, but they still made it to the top of the submarine. Also they were in the cell in the submarine and they tried speaking tons of different languages and finally they got one that the captain understood. And also they are being threatened that the captain of the submarine will throw them into the sea but they are still fighting not to be thrown into the sea even though the captain has the final say.
