Catching Fire – Weekly Reading Response Blog

I just started my book Catching fire. It is the second book to my series “The Hunger Games”. So far in my book Katniss and Peeta have been back to there normal life’s because the games are over. Katniss and Peeta also get a “victory tour” where they visit all the districts for a tour..

1) Tell what you like or dislike about the book.

What i liked about the book is that in the ending of the chapter they use one sentence that leaves you in suspense until you read again. I like this because you always want to keep reading and it leaves you in suspense. for example in the ending of chapter 2 it says ” I’m staring into the eyes of president snow.” President snow is the president of Panem which is where all 12 districts are. He is really evil and gives Katniss a death threat to her and her family. It is that if she doesn’t convince him that her and Peeta are in love she will kill Gale (a lifetime friend), her family (Mom and little sister Prim) and all her friends.

4) Write about something in the book that surprised you or that you found interesting.

Something that i found interesting is the Quarter Quell. The Quarter Quell is where all of the winners of districts 1-12 get put in a bowl and get there names drawn again. For example, only Haymitch, Katniss, and Peeta have won in district 12 so Katniss automatically goes to fight again because she is the only girl from district 12 that has won. also, Haymitch gets picked to go into the games again but Peeta volunteers as tribute so he can go into the games with Katniss.

16) Tell what you think could be changed in the book to make it better for readers.

Some Things that could of been changed in my opinion would be there names. I would want to change this because there names are hard to pronounce and when i try and talk about my book its hard to remember there names because there hard to pronounce. Some names in the book are Cinna and Greasy Sae

maybe next time you shouldn’t use spell check to correct “sentence”

Who is your favourite character in the entire book?

KATNISS!!!! (and Peeta, Gale and Haymitch) but mostly Katniss!
