Mocking Jay – Weekly Reading Response Blog

1.There is not much I dislike but I don’t really like the lack of action that is going on also its kind of hard to understand what is going on since Katniss (the main character) herself doesn’t even know.

3. I noticed that Prim changed a lot since the first book because she grew up very fast. In the book even Katniss says Prim has to become wiser and grow up too fast because of the destruction and sadness that the Hunger Games and Capitol brought on. In the first book Prim is fairly young and acts her age but now she acts much older.

7.I made a connection to the other book I’ve read recently “The Way We Fall” by Megan Crewe I thought they had similar main characters Katniss and Kaelyn were very independent and liked to keep to themselves. Katniss especially reminded me of Kaelyn when she was struggling to please the people of District 13, and when she kept hiding away in closets to get away from all the noise.

4.Something that surprised me was when I learned that District 13 was alive the whole time just living in an underground facility. A long time ago they threatened nuclear war against the Capitol especially since they are the district that makes weapons. District 13 agreed to let the Capitol bomb there “town” if they don’t declare war and the Capitol lets them live underground in peace.

Yeah, when you read on you’ll find out that the 13th district was “supposedly” demolished by the Capitol. But when you read the third book they tell you what really happened.
