The Hunger Games

 1. Write about something in the book that surprised you or that you found interesting

 In my book, ‘The Hunger Games’, something that I found very interesting was, Katniss says that the ‘Capitol’ (the capitol of Panem) was once known as the Rockies. Katniss says that it was once known as the Rockies because, ‘The Hunger Games’ takes place in the future. Another fact that I found interesting is, Katniss says that ‘The Hunger Games’ was made to remind the 12 district’s that the Capitol is in charge of them. So they send two people, from ages 11 to 18 to an out door arena to fight to the death against 23 other people. Who ever is the last standing.. is the winner. If you win ‘The Hunger Games’ you are guaranteed a lifetime of great treasure and wealth. So, to the contestants, killing 23 people isn’t that bad, considering how they’re life style now, having hunt and trade for they’re food and basic items that are necessary to stay alive.

2. Tell what you like or dislike about the book and why

 In my book, ‘The Hunger Games’, I really like how detailed Suzanne Collins made the book. How she detailed the book really made the book such a hit, in my opinion. For example, when I started the book, in the first chapter, Katniss and Gale (her best friend) are sitting on a hill in the forest and eating bread filled with raisins and other foods that the two are not used to, Suzanne Collins makes Kaniss explain in great detail how the raisons were squished into the bread and how the cheese melted deep into the warm surface of the bread, fresh out of the oven. Katniss also explains the work Gale must have gone through to get a hold of it, and what he must have traded. On every page of the book, the detail is more than any other book that I’ve read in my life.

3.Write About how the author’s style and how it makes you feel

In my book, ‘The Huger Games’, the authors name is Suzanne Collins. Suzanne’s style on this book is very detailed. Suzanne makes every little thing in the book made out to be like the best thing in the world! She adds tiny words that make things sound like something you could dream about.

4. Write about you predictions and weather or not they were right

In my book, ‘The Hunger Games’, I had many predictions about what was going to happen, but, the biggest one that i had was, I thought that Katniss was going to get picked for The Hunger Games, not Prim. I thought that because, Katniss is the main character in the book and it would have been a really short story if she hadn’t gone to The Hunger Games.  In the end, my prediction was right… with a little twist. Instead of Katniss getting chosen for The Humger Games, Prim (Katniss’s little sister) and a volunteers to take her place as a contestant in the Hunger Games.
