Terror on Tour

By Carolyn Keene and Franklin W. Dixon

Right now I am reading a Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys Super Mystery called Terror on Tour. It is written by the author of the Nancy Drew series Carolyn Keene and the author of the Hardy Boys series Franklin W. Dixon.

1. Tell what like or dislike about the book and why.

What I like about this book is that it is really exciting at some parts where you just have to know what happens next in the mystery, the part I’m at right now is like that. Deirdre (annoying and snotty rich girl) got kidnapped and Frank, Joe, Nancy, George and Bess are trying to figure out what happened to her, they look around for a while, then everything goes dark and on all the screens it shows a video. On the video it’s Deirdre with tears all over her face. She said that if they don’t get Kijani ( lead singer from Royal We the most popular band there) on the stage right now then the kidnappers will kill her.  What I disliked about the book is that the mystery started so late in the book. It didn’t start till half way through because Frank and Joe didn’t know what their actual mission was and Nancy was trying to figure out what the actual mystery was just like Frank and Joe.

7. Tell about the connections that you made while reading the book. Tell how it reminds you of yourself, of people you know, or of something that happened in your life. It might remind you of other books, especially the characters, the events, or the setting.

At Rockapazooma there are a lot of different bands playing. There is Lethal Injection the rock band. They wear leather clothes and make up all over their faces. They remind me exactly of the band KISS because they both are a rock bands they have the crazy hair and makeup all over their faces like Lethal Injection. Another singer that reminds me of a singer in real life is Tony Lovely. She started writing her own songs from when she was young and she is really pretty with blonde hair. She reminds of Taylor Swift. Even though Taylor Swift is not 25 like Toni Lovely they both write their own songs about, they’re both blonde and people think they are pretty, they started writing their songs since they were young and they play the same kind of music. Their music is usually not hardcore or upbeat dance music.

8. Write about the author’s style and how it makes you feel.

There were two authors for this book. The book was written from three points of view from the character. The first chapter would be Joe one of the hardy brother, then second chapter Nancy Drew and then the third chapter would be Frank the other Hardy brother. When they all went to Rockapazooma it was confusing because before they got together it wrote from Nancy’s point of view of some events that happened, then they did the same events that happened over again just in one of the Hardy Boys point of view instead. At first it was really confusing because I was like didn’t that already happen? But then I realized what they were doing after. Then once Nancy, Frank and Joe started working together they didn’t repeat all the previous events anymore they just continued.

  1. Sounds like an interesting story. I don’t ever recall a Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew combo story before – I loved the Hardy Boys books when I was younger. Good post!
