The Reckoning

I’m reading the reckoning By Kelly Armstrong, I just started the book and I’m not very far through it yet but I will write a short summary of what I read so far.

In the beginning of this book the main character’s Chloe, Derek, Simon and Tori were trying to get away/ run away from the Edison Group which is trying to kill them because they were subjects in a project that they were working on with them, The project was to see how they their powers worked, how they got them and how powerful they can be/how powerful can they get. First of all I should talk about the main characters, so you understand what I am talking about. You. Chloe is the true main character, she is a necromancer who is a person that can see ghost and talk to them like humans. Derek is a Werewolf that can change at any time without knowing it and he is foster brothers with Simon. But Derek is the older brother and the oldest one out of the four characters. Simon is a sorcerer like his father. Also he is very nice especially to Chloe. I think it is because he likes her and then there was Tori. The person that doesn’t get along very well with Chloe, But they do have their moments. Tori has almost the same powers as Simon inept she is called a witch instead of a sorcerer because she is a girl.  Now I should get on with my question.

Question 1. Tell what like or dislike about the book and why.

The thing I like most in the book so far is that Chloe likes Derek. She acts like she just likes him as a partner and friend, but really Chloe has a huge crush on him. I think she is trying to play it cool and not try to ruin what they have which is a pretty good friendship but really she is drifting him more away. Also she is friendlier to Simon so Derek probably thinks that Chloe likes Simon and they will end up together, so he would have no chance with Chloe.

Question 2. Write about something in the book that surprised you or that you found interesting.

One of the things that I found interesting in this book was that when Chloe is sleeping and she is dreaming about people that are dead, she can raise the dead/ put their souls back into their bodies. Even if she doesn’t try to raise the dead it still happens anyway.

Question 3. Write your predictions and about whether your predictions were right.

I’m just going to say this so you don’t expect any more writing; I only have a couple of predictions. My first prediction is that I thought the ghost that Chloe was following was going to lead her into a trap. I was right about that and Chloe almost died. My second prediction is that the two werewolf guys are looking for Derek and Chloe to kill them. I was also right about that one to. But Derek and Chloe don’t know about them fowling them yet.
