1. Write about 3 things in the book that gave you a signal
In my book, ‘The Hunger Games’, 1 thing that signaled in my head is, I was trying to picture Katniss, a girl who has never had a real shower, looking the way that the book explained her before her and Peeta were about to ride they’re chariot out to the City Circle. Another thing that ‘signaled’ in my head as I was reading is, Katniss is being really mean to Peeta because she thinks that hes planning to kill her when the games start, so, she acts like shes being really nice to Peeta so she wont get killed in The Hunger Games. The last thing that triggered in my head when I was reading was, Why does Cinna (Katniss’s stylist) wear make up if hes a man? And, why does everyone in Panem wear funny clothes like Katniss describes?
2. Tell what could be changed in the book to make it better for readers
In my book, ‘The Hunger Games’, one thing that i think could be changed in the book to make it better for the readers is, I think that Suzanne Collins should add another book to the series. She could make it wear maybe the Government of Panem, decides to start an adult hunger games and Katniss is chosen to once again compete in The Hunger Games.
3. Write about the language that the author used and why you think she wrote that way
Suzanne Collins, the author of,’The Hunger Games’, used very detailed and modern language in the book. For example, Suzanne doesn’t use old words from medieval times like ‘ye’ and ‘thow’ ect. Also, Suzanne uses really descriptive words like when she describes things that Katniss does, she uses words that make a very detailed pictures in my head. For example, she used descriptive words when she described how Katniss and Peeta looked when they were riding they’re chariots into the city circle.
4. Tell about connections that you had
In my book, ‘The Hunger Games’, I’ve had many text to text connections with other books and movies that Ive seen and read. For example, one connection that I had was, in the movie, ‘Percy Jackson and the lightning thief’, and in the book, they ride chariots around a stadium and everyone that is a son or daughter of a god, face each other in a race around the stadium.
