The Hunger Games

1. Tell what you noticed about the characters, such as what made them act as they did or how they changed.

In my book, ‘The Hunger Games’, Ive noticed some changes in Katniss. Ive noticed that she acts more confident and mean than she did at the beginning of the book. For example, Katniss only thinks about The Hunger Games and people’strategies to kill her. She doesn’t ever think that Peeta for example, when they’re on the roof of the of the training center, and Peeta gives Katniss his coat because shes cold, she just thinks that he’s acting nice because she has a fear that he planning something behind her back.

7. Tell about the connections that you made while reading the book. Tell how it reminds you of yourself, of people you know, or of something that happened in your life. It might remind you of other books, especially the characters, the events, or the setting.

In my book, ‘The Hunger Games’, Katniss (the main character) reminds me of Survivor Man. I think that they relate to each other in my head because they’re both really good in the woods. For example, Survivor Man and Katniss both know what plants you can eat, how to hunt animal and how to cook them. They both know how to protect themselves from the wild by making shelters for themselves and others and, they both think before they act. They wont do something unless they of what could and will happen.

3.Do you relate to any of the characters in the book? Explain how and why.

In my book, ‘The Hunger Games’, I fell like I relate to Katniss in the beginning of the book because, If one of my family members got chosen to go to something like The Hunger Games, I would trade places with them so they wouldn’t have to go. I’m not like Katniss in ways of her being so savvy in the woods, If I got lost int he woods, I would most likely be eaten or dies from being scared. Also, I hate bugs… Katniss can pick them up and eat them… I would rather die than eat a bug or touch one! Lastly, Katniss has the courage to kill and animal, I love animal and I would hate to see one die. For example, When I go to grandparent trailer in the summer, my grandpa owns a boat and we go fishing. Whenever Icatch a fish or someone else does, I make them throw it back because I wont touch it pr kill it.

4. Write about something in the book that surprised you or that you found interesting.

In my book, ‘The Hunger Games’, I found it interesting that Haymitch stayed sober long enough to teach Katniss and Peeta some strategies to winning The Hunger Games. I thought that Haymitch wasn’t going to stick to his promise because he was probably drunk when he agreed to it. Now, I think that Katniss or Peeta might have a better chance of trying to win The Hunger Games with the help of the new and improved sober Haymitch.
