Fear and Loathing in Las vegas – Weekly Reading Response Blog

I finally reached Part 2 in my book. I will summarize what I have read so far. They went to the show on acid and got kicked out by the security. So they went to the circus circus. They went to the bar there. It’s spinning around and around like a merry go-round. His attorney sat at the bar. “I’m starting to feel the fear. They’re going to take us down. ” Hunter had trouble getting his attorney off the merry go-round bar. When he did, they got in the Red Shark and went back to the hotel. His attorney had two room keys. One was his own and the other was some guy named Lacerda’s key. His attorney was worried that he hooked up with a girl that he tried to hook up with in an elevator a few hours ago. The attorney started to think he was with Lacerda and wanted to cut him. So he backed off and left the room. He went to the casino and messed around. When he got back to the room his attorney was blasting music and in the bath tub. He told Hunter to throw the radio in to kill him. Hunter refused and got to sleep.

Hunter went to a town called baker. A man pulled into a parking garage that Hunter was in and said he was looking for him. A telegram from ‘Dr.Gonzo’ had come in saying that Hunter had a new job. He was to go to a drug convention and wright about it. Hunter left and sped down the highway. A cop pulled him over and realized he had been drinking. He told Hunter to go to the next rest stop and sleep. Hunter said he was fine but the cop made him go. So Hunter left and drove towards this rest stop and found the kid that they picked up in the beginning of the book. The kid was smiling and had his thumb out looking for a ride but when he saw Hunter, he put his hand down and smile turned to a frown. Hunter thought he went to town and told the cops about him and many other things so he turned around and drove right out of there. He went to a pay phone and called his attorney. Hunter yelled about how his attorney set him up, the cop, the kid. His attorney said he was crazy and told him the telegram was from him and told him to go to the Pink Flamingo Hotel and to meet him there. Hunter said okay and went to a bar. Then I reached Part 2 in my book.
