Catching Fire 3

SPOILER ALERT.

Tell me what you like or dislike about the book so far.

So far, I like how much action has been put into the 2nd book, Catching Fire. When I finished the Hunger Games, I didn’t think Catching Fire would have much action involved. I thought it would just be about what life is like after winning the Games. Actually, it is filled with action. Of course since it is a trilogy it would need something exciting to happen for it to be able to even continue to the 3rd book, The Mocking Jay. What has happened that is so action packed is the rebellions everywhere that Katniss and Peeta have “fueled” with them both winning has caused the Capitol to try and kill one, if not both, of them. It is the quarter quell, and the “little” twist has caused all previous winners of the games to enter once again. Considering Katniss is the only girl, she has been automatically placed back in the games to fight to the death. This time, however, her goal will be to protect Peeta, who has taken Haymitch’s place in order to save Katniss. There has not been a lot i’ve disliked about the book. Recently, however, Peeta has said to the public that Katniss is pregnant and it is actually just an act to convince everyone they are truly in love. I thought that was smart of Peeta to say, but they made it very difficult to understand if it was the truth or not. That may have been to keep the readers questioning, though.

Tell me about parts of the book that puzzled you or made you ask a question.

A part that really puzzled me was, as I said before, is Katniss pregnant? I actually had to ask someone that had finished the series if she was, and then I searched it up. Susanne Collins made figuring that out pretty difficult. At first, Katniss began crying, I was unsure if that was an act. Then, she said “Yes, I am pregnant.” On one of the pages. But then, she said in the arena, “Oh.. That’s right, I am supposed to be pregnant.
